We had reached a point in our marriage of 45 years where there were needs not being met and we needed some redefining of our relationship. Tony was recommended to us. We worked with him for about a year and a half. He was always open to all of our questions and opinions. We were able to be honest and frank with him and felt he respected our situation and took an interest in us. We never felt that he was judgmental. Both of us were comfortable with him. We told him what our goals were. His role was to help us get what we wanted. He did not tell us what he thought we should have or do according to him and his values. In our being with him, he was open to nontraditional ideas and resolutions. He had lots of references that he recommended. He gave us “homework” or “assignments” to help us with our communication with each other. He also made himself available via telephone (which we never used) if we ever needed a quick conversation. And although there were times when he was quite strict with us we never felt we wanted to walk out and not return. From one session to the next, he always remembered the minute details of our previous conversations. We almost always left with ideas that made us think. As we have stopped our visits we both feel that he was very helpful and will certainly make contact with him in the future if a need arises.
